Ocoee cyclists invited to help cops and kids
Cyclists from Ocoee are invited to grab their bikes, lace up their sneakers and join in an event that will help the Winter Garden Police Athletic League (PAL) help kids from throughout the local area.
The PAL will be hosting its fourth annual Hot Pursuit Pedal for PAL, which will see cyclists choosing of the four different routes that have been selected for the event. These include a 10-mile family friendly choice, as well as 25, 65 and 100-mile options, which, according to the event’s website, have all been chosen for their degree of difficulty and scenery. Along the way, there will be plenty of fully manned water stations and rest stops for anyone who needs to take a break. Everything from route maps to finish line banners, signage for the rest and water stops and more for an event like this can be supplied by a print company.
Each person who participates will receive a PAL Hot Pursuit T-shirt, a free breakfast before setting out for the day, a lunch once they are finished, smoothies, massages, snacks and more. A DJ also will be on hand to provide entertainment for the cyclists.
The fundraiser will be held on March 12 in Winter Garden. All those who are interested in registering to take part or who simply wish to find out more can visit the event’s website or call Officer Raphael at 407-656-3636 ext. 4017 for further details.
