Mardi Gras block party planned for Ocoee residents

Lovers of celebrations and festivities will want to plan accordingly, as a Mardi Gras celebration is scheduled for Ocoee residents.

The Mardi Gras Block Party and Concert has an official date, with the festivities beginning in a few weeks, and Ocoee residents are encouraged to attend. The block party and concert, planned and hosted by the Parks and Recreation department, will provide attendees access to local musicians and artists on McKey Street in downtown Ocoee.

It’s an event designed to provide a family-friendly and welcoming environment. Attendees can bring food and beverages to keep up with the festivities if they wish, or visit local participating food trucks at the block party. Attendees are also encouraged to invite friends and family to join in the many activities planned for this year’s Mardi Gras celebration.

Poster printing can be a great way to raise awareness in the community for events like this.

The Second Line Walk will also occur at the Block Party, and will begin at Unity Park in Ocoee. Interested parties are encouraged to check the weather and dress accordingly to enjoy the day’s events in comfort.

The block party will be hosted in downtown Ocoee on Friday, February 9, beginning at 6:00pm and ending at 9:00pm. Attendance is free, and interested parties can contact Adrian Dorsey for more information.
