Local police department hosts teen education session

The Ocoee Police Department will host its annual teen event this July.

The occasion is the Teen Citizen Police Academy, and it is a four-day educational affair. The event will focus on informing attendees about the daily challenges of law enforcement officials. The agenda for the event includes a tour of both the police and dispatch departments, school resource officers, the SWAT team, CSI, and the traffic division. Information will also be provided on different police equipment such as firearms and handcuffs.

The session is open to teens ages 13 through 18. In order to be permitted entry, attendees must have no prior convictions or felonies and must provide proof of transportation to and from the event.

Though it is free to attend, patrons must still pre-register to reserve their spot. Registration can be completed through Ocoee City´s event listing site. For further information, patrons may get in touch with Officer Andrea Sanders by telephone at (407) 554 - 7204, or by email at ASanders@ocoee.org.

Brochure printing can be a helpful way to offer teens engaging take-home material at the end of events like this.

This event takes place from Monday, July 24 to Friday, July 28 at the Highpoint Church at 476 Ocoee Commerce Parkway, Ocoee. The event begins at 10:00 am and ends at 2:00 pm each day.
