Harry Potter fans to invade Orange County this summer
GeekyCon is coming to Florida’s Orange County at the end of July.
The fan convention is for enthusiasts of ‘geeky’ pastimes, including the Harry Potter books and movies, and Doctor Who, with attendance recommended for children aged 11 and over.
The convention will welcome several guest stars, including Anthony Rapp, Team Starkid, Jon Cozart, Kim Rhodes, and Mike Rugnetta. There will also be musical performances by Harry and the Potters, The Whomping Willows, and Tonks and the Aurors.
Guests can attend the Esther Earl Rocking Charity Ball, take improv lessons, attend crafting tutorials, and get autographs from their favorite stars. There will also be book clubs and cosplay competitions.
As with all fan conventions, there will be a large dealer's room. The vendors are expected to be selling merchandise such as books, posters, costumes, photographs, and action figures, among other things.
Fans from all over Orange County, including some from Ocoee, are sure to want to attend this event. Local stationery printers may have been asked to help advertise by supplying flyers or posters.
GeekyCon will be held at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando from July 30th to August 2nd. Tickets are $60 per day, while fees for all four days will be $125 for lit focused events, $175 for general, and $275 for a full pass.
