Charity run to be held in Ocoee

A charity Fun Run and 5k will take place in Ocoee this April.

The event is put on by a regional division of Chick-Fil-A, and is a part of the eatery’s annually held 5k and Fun Run. The proceeds from this event will benefit the Southeastern Food Bank, which provides food to Floridian households living in food poverty.

The 5k will be a timed run for all participants on a state-certified course. Entrants will each receive their bibs, timer, and other items in their packets at the time of pickup. Souvenir T-Shirts will also be available on the day of the event.

At the end of the race, each runner will receive an individual results page, along with a 20-second clip of them crossing the start and the finish line. The company will also be providing a livestream of the results on the day of the race.

While children may enter the Fun Run for free, the cost for the adult 5K will be $35. Those with a student, military or service discount will pay $30. Registration on the day of the event will be $40. Packet pickups will begin on March 31 and end on race-day.

The race begins at 7:30 am at 6 South Bluford Ave, Ocoee, Florida 34761. The date will be April 9.
