Big Orange Games coming soon to Ocoee
An upcoming sporting event will give physically challenged adults and youth an opportunity to engage in a range of sporting activities.
The event, titled the ‘Big Orange Games’, will see people ranging in ages from 5 to 25 take part in various sporting activities. Those taking part are living with such conditions as cerebral palsy, blindness, spinal lesions, autism, or amputations.
Events in which participants will be competing will include the shot put, the club throw, different lengths of sprinting, discus toss, the long jump, slalom, and a softball throw. At the conclusion of the day, there will be an awards ceremony where specially designed Big Orange gold, silver and bronze medals will be presented. A print company can custom design awards such as this, as well as any other printed materials that may be needed for use during the event, or before it as a promotional tool.
The competition has been scheduled to take place on Saturday, April 16th at Ocoee High School. Those who wish to take part need to register ahead of time.
Further information about the games, as well as registration forms and a list of companies and organizations who are acting as sponsors, can be obtained by calling the Parks and Recreation Department at 407-905-3180 or by visiting the Big Orange Games website.
