Two charity 5k run/walks have been scheduled to usher in the holiday season.
Northeast Florida Salvation Army will begin their 2023 Red Kettle Season with a Red Kettle Kickoff and Kettle Krush 5k.
The Kickoff will have outdoor activities, drinks, and food trucks.
The race/walk 5k will begin at 4:45 pm, and the Fun Run will begin at 4:40 pm. Awards will go to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place overall males and females, and 13 age categories.
Registration for The Kettle Krush 5k will be $40 until November 17th and $45 on race day. Swag will include T-Shirts sporting the event’s graphic design and finisher medals.
Participants may walk or run the course that begins and ends at the Lift Ev’ry Voice and Sing Park, 120 Lee Street.
The Red Kettle Kickoff and Kettle Krush 5k will begin at 3:30 pm on November 18th.
A couple of weeks later Ronald McDonald House Charities of Jacksonville will be hosting its Light Up the House 5k.
Adult registration will be $45, and children may sign up for $35. All registrants will receive swag Bags containing goodies, and t shirts with the 35th Anniversary graphic design.
The 5k will begin at 6:00 pm while the Kids 1-mile Fun Run will begin at 7:00 pm. A Block Party will ensue from 5:00 pm to 8:30 pm.
The 5k will begin and end and block party will take place at 824 Childrens Way, Friday, December 1st.
