The 40th Greater Jacksonville Kingfish Tournament is still scheduled for mid-July.
First place prizes include a contender 24 Sport boat, 300 HP Yamaha Outboard motor, a magic tilt trailer and a Custom Marine T-top.
The kickoff tournament will be the Greater Jacksonville Kingfish Bash. This tournament is reserved for past champions and the first 40 participants to pay the $1000 entrance fee. First place for largest fish will be $10,000 and a Rolex watch.
The General Tournament will be held in three locations- Mayport, D. Bartlett Boat Ramp in Fernandina and Porpoise Point in St. Augustine. Registration for the General Tournament is limited to the first 500 boats.
Prizes will be awarded 10 places deep for large fish, aggregate, single engine and Lady Angler. The Awards Ceremony will take place in the Liars Tent Saturday, July 28th starting at 4:00 pm.
Winners of fishing tournaments such as this often have pictures taken with their prize catches. Many of these photos go to local Stationery printers to be included in yearly family Calendars.
The tournament supports charitable causes through the Jacksonville Marine Charities Inc.
The 40th Greater Jacksonville Kingfish Tournament will be held at the Jim King Park and Boat Ramp from July 13th through July 18th. The General Tournament will be held Thursday, July 16th and Friday, July 17th.
