Jacksonville locals can get a workout on the beach, and possibly receive a cash reward.
The Tijuana Flats Summer Beach Run features a five-mile race and a one-mile fun run. Both events are out-and-back courses on packed sand.
After the event, participants can enjoy a concert from the Rick Arcusa Band, along with a post-race party with free beer and tacos. A printing company was likely asked to create Flyers and Posters to help promote the event and all its perks.
Cash awards will be given to the top three overall males and females. In addition, beach towels will be awarded to other top finishers.
Packet pickup will take place on August 20 and August 21 from 10:00 am until 6:00 pm at various 1st Place Sports stores in Jacksonville, Jax Beach, and Orange Park.
Until August 15, the five-mile registration costs $20. Registration costs $25 from August 16 until August 21, and $30 on race day. The cost of the one-mile is $12. Participants will get a T-shirt and a finisher’s medal.
The five mile kicks off at 6:00 pm next Saturday, August 22, followed by the one-mile at 6:05 pm. Race day packet pickup will start at 4:30 pm. Finally, the awards ceremony will begin at 8:30 pm.
