A community a little north of Downtown Jacksonville, Historic Springfield, will be holding its annual free PorchFest in early November.
Presented by the Springfield Preservation and Revitalization Council, the afternoon will have more than 20 bands performing on neighborhood porches. Some of these will be Zach Person, Canelita Sabrosa, Erick Carter, Til Further Notice, Remedy Tree, Jacksonville Arts Music School, and the Douglas Anderson Guitar Ensemble.
The venue will be a few blocks long and closed to traffic. This will allow pedestrians, children, bicyclists, and pets on leashes to walk from porch to porch. Free maps describing the bands, locations, and times will be available at the Sesquicentennial Park welcome tent.
Purchasing T-Shirts sporting this year’s PorchFest graphic design, beverages, and donations will help to defray the cost of paying the bands.
Sponsorships start at the $150 PorchFest Friend level which will include one VIP pass to free food, access to the VIP area and drink tickets plus a ticket to the Thank You party. Other available levels include the $2,500 Bronze, $5,000 Silver, $7,500 Gold, $10,000 Platinum, and $20,000 Presenting. Each sponsor will receive their business name and Logo Design on the event’s website, Print materials, social media, T-Shirts, and event poster.
Proceeds from the event will go to SPAR, the Springfield Preservation and Revitalization organization, benefiting neighborhood arts programs.
Jacksonville PorchFest 2022 will be from noon to 8:00 pm on Saturday, November 2.
