Local arboretum hosts Shakespeare-themed event

The Shakespeare Club of the University of North Florida will be presenting an excerpt from “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” at the Jacksonville Arboretum & Botanical Gardens towards the end of this month.

General admission tickets are $15, and guests will be treated to food, bar, drinks, a live DJ, and an optional speed dating experience for those singles interested in meeting that right person. Guests must be 21 or older.

VIP tickets are available for $25 and include a drink ticket and a captivating nature tour along one of the garden’s 120 acres of habitats, trails, and planted gardens. Tours may include a stroll around the lake loop, a tour of Sand Ridge (an area of marshlands and forest), a look at hidden rivulets and tiny pools on the Aralia trail, a view of championship trees in Live Oak, or a walk along the boardwalk at Jones Creek. They may also incorporate a ravine and small island experience in the Upper and Lower Ravine.

The Arboretum holds many events like this to raise awareness and funds to further its mission of conservation, outdoor teaching laboratories, research, collection, public education, and recreation. Many people who attend events like this bring Business Cards in case a networking opportunity arises.

A Midsummer Night Out will be from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm on Friday, July 28 at the Jacksonville Arboretum & Botanical Gardens, 1445 Millcoe Road.
