Locals can take part in a triathlon just for kids.
The 2015 First Coast Kids Triathlon will be held at Everbank Field, an NFL football stadium, in Downtown Jacksonville. The event will take place over the course of two days.
The junior triathlon, for kids between the ages of 6 and 10, will feature a 100-yard swim, a three-mile bike ride, and a half-mile run. The senior triathlon, for kids between the ages of 11 and 15, will consist of a 200-yard swim, a six-mile bike ride, and a one-mile run.
As kids cross the finish line in the stadium, they will be featured on a video board. A banner printing service has probably been busy creating large, sponsored Signs to display in the stadium.
Registration costs $40 and can be completed online or through the mail. Online registration is an additional $3. Registration scholarships are also available.
Participants must also be members of USA Triathlon. Triathlon participants can choose between a one-day membership for $10, or an annual youth membership for $15.
Registration includes a T-shirt, chip timing, a medal, ice cream, and a swag bag.
The junior triathlon will take place on May 2 while the ‘seniors’ will race on May 3. On both days, the events will begin at 7:30 am. Everbank field is located on 1 Everbank Field Drive.Get a Free Quote for Signs
