Whether running, strolling, or walking, everyone is invited to take part in this year’s Ronald McDonald House Light up the House 5k & Family Day coming to Jacksonville in early December.
The 5k will begin at 8:30 am, the Kids Fun run will be at 9:30 am, and the free family festival will begin at 9:45 am. Packets will be available before the race.
Registration is $35 until November 25, $40 until December 2, and $45 on Race Day. Those raising $50 will receive T-Shirts featuring the event’s Logo Design, and those raising $100 will receive admission to the VIP Club and a pre-event breakfast.
Awards will go to the top three finishers in 16 age categories. Swag includes a pair of Ronald McDonald House striped socks, swag bag, custom finisher medal, and race bib. Kids in the fun run will receive medals courtesy of 1st Place Sports.
Proceeds will go to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Jacksonville, which provide meals, transportation, and lodging to families of critically ill children. This year’s goal is $125,000.
A $5 donation provides a teddy bear, while those wishing to go a little further can donate $100 to cover expenses for one member of a family to stay at the house.
Light Up the House 5k Run/Walk will be Saturday, December 3 from 8:00 am to 11:00 am at Ronald McDonald House Charities of Jacksonville, 824 Children’s Way.
