Jacksonville readies for the Gator Bowl

The new year in Jacksonville means time to get ready for the upcoming 75th TaxSlayer Gator Bowl.

Activities that lead up to the game actually start on Tuesday, December 31 with The VyStar New Year’s Eve Run at 2:00pm. The 5K run will begin and end in front of Vystar Veterans Memorial Arena, on A. Philip Randolph Blvd. and will be an out-and-back to downtown Jacksonville. The awards ceremony will be at 3:15pm at the Intuition Ale Works. Pre-registration will be $40 and registration will be $45 on race day.

At midnight, the New Year’s Eve Fireworks display will take place along the St. Johns River, 1001 Museum Circle, put on by the City of Jacksonville. The fireworks will be shot from a barge situated on the river between the Double Tree and Hyatt hotels and from the Acosta Bridge.

On game day, January 2, the public is invited to the Daily’s Place Flex Fiend TAxSlayer Tailgate Party from 3:00pm until 6:30pm. The Daily’s Place Amphitheater will hold an ACC/Big Ten Pep Rally at 4:15pm and a SEC Pep Rally at 4:45pm. These events will be free with game tickets.

Game tickets will also be required to attend the pregame concert from 5:00pm until 6:30pm, also at the amphitheater. This year’s headliner will be Yacht Rock Revue. Fans that attend concerts like this often like to buy Promotional Products from the bands' websites.
