Locals may want to loosen their belts and find those stretch pants, as it is almost time for Gastro Fest 2016.
As the 30,000 guests who experienced the event last year will testify, this is a day for tasting those specialties that the best local restaurants, eateries, and brewers offer.
Nine restaurants and eateries will be open for business all eight hours of the event. Another nine will start when the venue opens and run for four hours. The last five will open in the middle of the afternoon and go until the event closing. Each tasting will cost between $1 and $3, so attendees should bring their wallets.
Special events will be occurring at various places within the venue. Some of these include a Taste of Ethiopia with Ibex, and a Charcuterie Pairing with Tapa Thai. There will be a Chamblin’s Uptown signing of the Cummen Museum’s cookbook ‘Chef’s Canvas’ and demonstrations by local chefs on the Conscious Eats Demo Stage. All those participating in the demonstrations will want to remember to bring their digital Business Cards.
A Fun for First Coast Kids Zone will include My Gym, MOSH, Jax Kids’ Mural Festival, activities by the Duval County Extension Office, Melrose Avenue Preschool, and the Jacksonville Beekeepers Association.
The event is scheduled for March 19th at Hemming Park, which is located at Duval and Laura Streets, Jacksonville. It will open at 11:00 am and close at 7:00 pm.Get a Free Quote for Business Cards
