Child Guidance Center will hold its annual Sandal & Sneaker Gala and 5th Annual Swing Fore Mental Health Golf Tournament, both in mid-October.
“Breaking the Surface, Breaking the Stigma” is the motto of this year’s Sandal & Sneaker Gala, which will mark the 70th year the Child Guidance Center has been working with children, adolescents and families in and around Jacksonville with community-based mental and behavioral health issues. It does this through case management and school-based outpatient services - its team of more than 125 professionals has been working with over 4,600 children and adolescents this year alone.
The event will have music, bites, and drinks. Anthony Austin, a First Coast News Anchor, will emcee the event and introduce a presentation from CGC’s CEO Theresa Rulien. Tickets are $75. The gala will be Thursday, October 14 from 6:30 pm until 9:00 pm at CGC Jax Campus, 5776 Saint Augustine Road.
The organization’s 5th Annual Swing Fore Mental Health Golf Tournament fundraiser will be the next day. A grab-and-go breakfast will be from 7:30 am until 8:30 am. That will be followed at 9:00 am with the shotgun start. A lunch reception will follow. General admission will be $100 and includes 18 holes of golf, breakfast, and the lunch reception.
Groups that sign up for events like this often wear matching shirts sporting their business or organization’s Logo Design.
The tournament will be Friday, October 15 at the Golf Club at South Hampton, 315 South Hampton Club Way, St. Augustine.
