Jacksonville full of hot air this month

Jacksonville will soon be running an Insane Inflatable 5K.

This event will be an untimed 3.1-mile run/walk dotted with challenging, unique inflatable obstacles. The course is just for fun, and the event will include a post-race celebration and a midway.

The starting line will be a challenge right from the start. Runners will have to climb up the front of the first inflatable then slide down the back to begin the run. New to the event this year will be The Mad House. This inflatable will have participants maneuver, weave, jump, and climb their way through a tube. The Crash Course is a series of inflated peaks and valleys with hanging obstacles that must be dodged or pushed aside in order to progress.

Many runners will particularly enjoy the Slingshot. This inflatable will have everyone climbing up an inflatable hill, sliding down the back side, and being shot out. The Jump Around will be a 70-foot bounce house. Participants will be climbing under the entrance and facing giant flying balls in the next obstacle. Other obstacle challenges will be the Waverunner, The Humps, the Mattress Run, and the Wrecking Balls.

Groups often create graphic design projects and have tee-shirts printed to wear at events like this one, which takes place at EverBank Field, 1 Everbank Field Drive, Jacksonville on Saturday, March 18. It will start at 8:30 am.
