Jacksonville couldnt bee more excited

Jacksonville is all abuzz with the upcoming second Honey Bee Festival. Hosted by Bee Friends Farm, the event will celebrate National Honey Bee Day. This event attracted over 10,000 visitors last year.

Over 60 vendors will be selling products, many of which will be produced or made by the vendors themselves, and services in the Buzy Bee Marketplace. Some of these will include Lucy Lou’s, Anney Life Designs and Tea Nation USA. Vendors at events such as this usually bring plenty of Business Cards along for those passers-by that may want to get in contact with them at a later date.

Festival goers can taste and purchase Florida honey at the tasting bar.The Honey Bee Education Annex will have members of the Clay County Beekeepers Association and Jacksonville Beekeepers Association speaking on topics such as basic and back yard beekeeping and pollinators. Other non-bee topics will include Mead-making and raising chickens in the backyard.

Clay County Stingers will host the Bee a Kid Zone. Here kids can have interactive experiences to learn about honey production, bee biology and more about the environment. There will also be arts and crafts stations and a plant-your-own-seed experience.

The Honey Bee Festival will be at the Jacksonville Fairgrounds, 510 Fairground Place, August 17th from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm. Although the event will be free, there will be a $5 parking fee.
