Jacksonville locals have the chance to take part in a festive holiday zoo event in just over a week’s time.
Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens is hosting its third Zoolights. During the event, the zoo will be decorated with LED lights. Trees, animal shapes, and ‘moving sculptures’ will all be illuminated.
Local artists will be putting on performances. Guests can also see sculptures and a train display. For an additional fee, attendees can hop aboard the zoo’s train and see the lights from a unique perspective. Guests can also ride the carousel or take in a 4-D ‘Polar Express’ attraction.
Zoolights costs $8 for zoo members and $10 for non-members. Children under three are free. To save $1 from admission, tickets can be purchased on the Jacksonville Zoo website. The carousel, 4D theater activity, and entrance to Stingray Bay all cost extra. Marshmallows, s’mores kits, glow sticks, and 3D glasses will also be available for purchase.
To inform the community about this event, the organizers may have asked a postcard printing service to create some Direct Mail marketing materials.
The event takes place from December 12 through 14 and also December 18 through January 3. Each night, Zoolights begins at 6:00 pm and ends at 9:30 pm. On Friday through Sunday, Zoolights will end at 10:00 pm. The zoo is closed on Christmas Day.
