Halloween in the air in Jacksonville

With Jacksonville’s little ghosts and goblins getting ready for Halloween, many spooky events and activities are available around the area this month.

This will be the second year for Fun4FirstCoastKids’ ‘Halloween in Hemming Park’ event. Children are encouraged to come in their Halloween costumes and take part in some trick or treating. The event will be free.

Activities scheduled will include a scavenger hunt for goodies. An imagination station will have paints, markers, stickers, sparkles, and spooky add-on items for children who want to try some pumpkin decorating.

The event Flyers indicate that local businesses will be manning many of the activity areas. Fancy Flo T. Pirate will be doing face painting, and My Gym will be bringing an obstacle course. Sweet Pete’s Candy and Peterbrooke Chocolatier will be there for those with a sweet tooth, and MOCA Jacksonville will be having an art activity.

Other activities will be made available by Gymboree Play and Learn Jacksonville, TNT Gymnastics, and Baby Boot Camp Jacksonville. Of course, Fun4FirstCoast Kids will be conducting activities as well. Food Allergy Families of Northeast Florida will be there and most likely will be bringing its Teal Pumpkin painting activity.

The festivities will begin Wednesday, October 26, at 10:00 am at Hemming Park, 135 W. Monroe Street in downtown Jacksonville. The event will run until approximately 12:00 noon.
