Over the next few days, Ringling Bros. and Barnum and Bailey Circus will be coming to Jacksonville.
The collective will be offering a new show that promoters are calling ‘LEGENDS’. This family-friendly event will offer fun, excitement and a chance to see a wide variety of animals and people performing all kinds of tricks.
The show is being called LEGENDS because the promoters believe the company has compiled a cast of the most skilled circus performers in the world. The lineup will include acrobat Paulo Dos Santos, the Globe of Steel, Riders of the Wind, a motorcycle high-wire act, an Asian elephant dancing team, and Alexander Lacy and his lions. They will also feature Clown Alley, a fire display, a show called Mixed Animals, an act called Living Mythical Legends, and many other acts. Some of them, according to the promoters, have never been seen before.
Those planning to attend may want to bring their best camera for capturing images of their little ones enjoying the show, perhaps for later use in postcard printing.
The circus will be held from today through Sunday, January 24, at Veterans Memorial Arena, 300 A Philip Randolph Blvd, Jacksonville. Show times will vary so those interested may want to check Ticketmaster, Ringling Brothers, or the arena's web sites. Ticket prices start at $15.
Radio station WQUIK is running a promotion whereby ticket buyers can type in the code: IHEART to get a 25% discount.
