The Arlington community here in Jacksonville will be celebrating its history and looking forward to the future with its annual Celebrate Arlington coming toward the end of September.
The 20/20 Vision Summit will start the 3-day event on Friday. Attendees will want to remember to bring their Business Cards to the networking reception which will begin at 5:00 pm. The interactive town hall program will begin at 5:30 pm. Panel discussion and a keynote speaker will address strategies for developing the future of the Arlington community. Residents have the opportunity to present their views and vision in small groups after the presentation.
On Saturday starting at 7:30 am Arlington fitness enthusiasts will meet in the College Park Shopping Center at 903 University Blvd. to participate in this year’s Celebrate Arlington! 5K. Proceeds will go to supporting Arlington neighborhoods and parks.
The annual Gala and Awards dinner and program will begin at 6:00 pm at the River City Baptist Church, 6801 Merrill Road. The evening will include music, food and a silent auction. Early bird tickets are $45 and regular ones will be $55 after August 30th. Proceeds from this event will go to Arlington’s workforce, education and health programs.
On Sunday, the Family Picnic will begin at 3:00 pm at Warrington Park, 465 Acme Street. Guests can opt for a free lunch featuring hot dogs or purchase food from local food trucks.
Celebrate Arlington will be Friday, September 25th through Sunday September 27th.
