The Greater Hollywood Chamber of Commerce will once again be hosting its annual Grapes for Grades event to benefits the Scholarship Foundation of Hollywood Florida.
The event features food from local restaurants, wine tasting, live music, a silent auction, and a raffle. According to the chief operating officer of the Chamber, Marie Suarez, the Chamber holds this special evening so that the community will have smart kids who will go to college somewhere and then come back and support and be the next leaders of the community. Grades for Grapes allows the Chamber raises money in the community to provide scholarships for students.
She added that scholarships are awarded to students based on an interview process, their grades, their financial need, and their acceptance onto a four-year course. As long as the students maintain a 3.0 GPA, they receive $1,000 a year.
Last year, the foundation received $27,000 from the Grades for Grapes event. Since it started 11 years ago, more than $300,000 has been raised by the Chamber for the foundation through Grades for Grapes.
The event will be held on September 19 from 6:30 pm to 9:30 p.m. at the Hollywood Beach Marriott. Evenings such as this one often benefit greatly from using banner printing, as printing advertising can go a long way in building excitement for an event and a cause.
