Hollywood plays key role in expansive technology and arts event

A large-scale art and light technology festival will return to Hollywood and nearby towns in February in a family-friendly community event.

The Broward County Cultural Division and MAD Arts have announced the return of Ignite Broward. The festival spans 10 days and four locations, offering residents a view into unique art installations, interactive art projects, workshops, and prototype presentations. The festival is now in its fifth year and was named “the must-see event lighting up South Florida” by Visit Lauderdale. Banner printing and similar graphic design products are often found at public festivals.

The four venues and their attractions are:

• ArtsPark at Young Circle (1 North Young Circle, Hollywood)—interactive audiovisual installations and sound-reactive experiences
• MAD Arts (481 South Federal Highway, Dania Beach)—immersive projections, outdoor sculptures
• Reverend Samuel Delevoe Memorial Park (2520 NW 6th Street, Fort Lauderdale)—the official IGNITE Broward kickoff, live break-dance performances
• Fort Lauderdale Airport (100 Terminal Drive, Fort Lauderdale)—projection-mapped art, interactive installations

MAD Arts was founded in 2020 as a museum, community gathering spot, and experimental workspace for art and technology. Its various art installations include immersive media, exploration of artificial intelligence, outdoor sculpture, and Dolby 3D surround-sound experiences.

Ignite Broward spans the dates from February 13 to 22. All events and displays are family appropriate, there is no cost to attend, and no registration is required.
