Hollywood film screening and art show to celebrate Latino creators

The Hollywood branch of the Broward County Library will hold an event in September that will showcase local artists.

Mind and Nuance is a program that invites people to watch a film by Claudio Marcotulli and meet with creatives from the Laundromat Artspace in Miami. The movie is Zenú, an experimental film about a musician who embarks on a river journey to find his muse. The film received an honorable mention for having an outstanding trailer at the Miami International Film Festival. Claudio Marcotulli will be at the event and will stay for a discussion after the movie.

The Laundromat Artspace is an organization led by artists that aims to provide opportunities for local creators and hold artistic events for the community. The artspace was formed in 2015 and is located in a transformed laundromat in Miami’s Little Haiti. There are 11 studios in the facility and an art gallery where people can see exhibitions. Some of the past exhibits include Worlds Behind You, Deconstructing the Sameness, and Peeling the Glass Onion.

The film screening and art event will be held on Saturday, September 12th from 1:00 pm to 4:30 pm. There isn’t a fee to come to the event, though guests must register in advance. The event will take place in the library’s Multipurpose Room. Organizations that host artistic experiences like this may use flyer printing services to make ads for their special events.
