The Broward Healthy Start Coalition will organize a conference in October at the Seminole Hard Rock in Hollywood.
The 2026 Maternal & Child Health Conference is an educational experience where medical professionals can learn more about serving mothers and their children. There will be many topics covered during the breakout sessions at the conference, like the importance of oral health, infant mental health, and how to improve conversations in clinical care. Attendees can also attend a table talk on using a village approach to improve maternal health outcomes.
The emcee for the conference will be Nicole Deggins, the founder of Sista Midwife Productions and the creator of an online directory for Black midwives and doulas. Shawnee Benton Gibson is the keynote speaker for the event. Gibson is the CEO of Spirit of a Woman and co-founded the ARIAH Foundation. There will also be several other notable presenters at the convention, including Jennie Joseph, Nicole Morin, and Dr. Timothy Quinn De Santis.
The health conference will be on Friday, October 30 from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. The opening remarks for the event will begin at 9:00 am. General admission to the event is $225 per person. The admission cost will include breakfast, a networking session with other attendees, and group lunch. Professionals who go to medical conferences like this may bring Business Cards to give out to other attendees.
