The Fulfillment Theatre Company will be holding a multi-day theater fest at the Liberia Sankofa Cultural Center in Hollywood.
The Black Theatre Fringe Festival of SoFlo is a celebration of the arts community that comprises several events. The fest will include a Playwright Festival where people can see plays made by local directors such as Sophia L. Woods, Kimberley Mullins, and Autrea Hepburn. Eventgoers can also attend the BIG10 Director's Exposé, which is a competition that challenges directors to create a 15-minute scene in only 10 hours. The winner of the contest will receive $500.
Those at the fest can also participate in several workshops related to dance and theater. The topics covered throughout the festival include Broadway dance, improv, and stage-managing live events. The courses will be taught by professionals like Alphonso Walker Jr., Crystal Magee, and Shawanna R. Hall. Each of the lessons during the fest will cost $10 to join. People can also purchase passes to receive access to all classes.
The theater festival will be held from Wednesday, June 7 to Saturday, June 10. Tickets to the event's opening show will cost $25, and admission to BIG10 Director's Battle costs $10 per person. Those interested in experiencing the entire fest may purchase an all-access pass for $85. Companies that organize festivals like these can market them to local consumers with poster printing.
