The Hollywood Lions Club will host its annual holiday parade in December at the Hollywood North Beach Park Kemp's Ridley.
Those interested in being part of a seasonal community activity can attend the Candy Cane Parade by the Hollywood Lions Club. The event originated during the 1950s by local merchants who wanted to attract more consumers to the area. The organizers will provide complimentary bleacher seating in multiple locations along the parade route. The event's emcee will be located at the Hollywood Beach Theatre. There are 100 entries in the parade, which includes lighted floats, marching bands, and costumed characters.
People may help the Hollywood Lions Club by joining the organization in the parade. Those who join the group's marching section are asked to wear a Lions shirt, though attendees without a Lions shirt may dress in red shirts, and black shorts or pants. Comfortable shoes are recommended for the parade. The club will also hold a toy drive that accepts new or slightly used toys. The donations will go to local groups like The South Broward Learning Center.
The Candy Cane Parade will be on Saturday, December 3 and will begin at 7:00 pm. People who want to give toys to the drive may drop their donations off at the Coral House Hotel and The Hollywood Jaycee Hall. Those who march in parades like this may bring promotional Pens to give to onlookers.
