Hollywood seminar to help with CPEN exam

A one-day review course will be held at Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital in Hollywood for nurses with pediatric patients.

Sick Kids: CPEN Review is a program organized by the Pedi-Ed-Trics Emergency Medical Solutions where people can learn important skills related to pediatric emergency nursing. Many types of emergencies will be covered during the presentation, including respiratory, cardiovascular, environmental, and abdominal emergencies. The seminar will use entertaining videos, real-life case studies, and a game-show-style test review to help attendees learn the material for their CPEN exams.

The presenter for the seminar will be Scott DeBoer, who, according to the event listing, is often considered the “Jim Carrey” of the nursing world thanks to his use of humor to help nurses learn about medical subjects. He has been a presenter for over 20 years and has written a CPEN review book titled Putting It All Together. He also founded Pedi-Ed-Trics Emergency Medical Solutions and has experience as a flight nurse. Deboer currently works as a MedEx Chicago transport nurse.

The review seminar will be held on Tuesday, September 5 from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. The cost to attend DeBoer's presentation is $150 per person. Those who are JDCH and MRH employees will be reimbursed after attending the course. People who offer seminars such as this can use brochure printing to provide guests with educational items they can bring home.
