Hollywood run scheduled to help hungry Floridians

For the tenth year, a run has been put on the schedule to help feed the hungry.

Feeding South Florida's 10th Annual Outrun Hunger 5K, which will take place in Hollywood, has been rescheduled from an earlier date. Organizers ask people who have already bought tickets, and who can take part in the event on the new day, to please do so. The tickets are still good, and support for those in need is critical.

JM Family Enterprises is the organizer of the run, which it hosts to help the more than 706,000 food-insecure individuals in the community. The course to be followed in the upcoming run in sanctioned by the USATF, and the event is expected to draw over 500 participants.

The route begins at Charnow Park, and follows the Hollywood Beach Broadwalk north, passing Hollywood North Beach Park to a point just past Custer Street, and then doubling back. Joggers with strollers are welcome, but they are asked to keep right so others can pass them. They are also asked to start the race at the back of the group, and leave the family pets at home. Banner printing can be used to create course markers for events like this.

The race will now be held September 26, with registration and packet pickup at 6.45 am. The run/walk itself will start at 7.30 am, and the awards ceremony will take place at 8.15 am. Live entertainment will be ongoing from 7.00 am until 9.00 am.
