Hollywood race to earn money for national firefighter organization

The Runner's Depot will be organizing a race and fundraiser in September at the Hollywood Beach Broadwalk.

The Runner's Depot Fire Hero 5K is an annual event that raises funds for National Fallen Firefighters Foundation. The course for the race will be along the Hollywood Beach Broadwalk. After the run, participants are invited to a post-race brunch on the beach. The first 1,000 people who register for the charitable 5K will be provided with an oversized beach towel. People who complete the course can get a finisher's medal.

The National Fallen Firefighters Foundation is a nonprofit organization created by the United States Congress in 1992. The group is based out of Emmitsburg, Maryland and works to help the families of fallen firefighters by providing them with resources. The foundation also sponsors a national tribute in October that honors firefighters who have died. The organization hosts support groups and organizes events like the Innovation in Safety Roundtable.

The fundraising 5K will be on September 10 and will begin at 7:00 am. The price to register for the race is $35, though people can get a discount if they sign up in advance. Those interested in offering further support to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation can donate online. Races similar to this can be promoted to more people by using poster printing services.
