Grapes for Grades, a program established by the Hollywood Florida Scholarship Foundation to raise money for students who struggle with being able to afford college, recently partnered with the Greater Hollywood Chamber of Commerce to host a fundraising event.
The event was held at the Hollywood Beach Marriott, with all proceeds going to benefit the Foundation. There was live music, food and wine, and a live auction.
Vice president of ways and means for the foundation, Ina Kushner-Rentzer, commented that the Foundation wants to be able to send more graduates of high school to college, as these students are important to the future of the country. The Foundation is able to provide scholarships to about 100 students.
President of the foundation, Pat Chukerman, added that with so many obstacles facing young people hoping to attend college, it is the responsibility of the Foundation to help them.
To qualify for a Grapes for Grades scholarship, students need to show they are in financial need and have a GPA of 3.2. It is the goal to help those students who have fewer economic resources than others, Kushner-Rentzer added.
Additional sponsors of the evening included jetBlue, radio station 97.3 FM, the Crowne Plaza Hotel, and the Marriott.
The Foundation may have benefited from the use of Flyers and Posters to promote the event and its cause throughout the community.Get a Free Quote for Flyers Get a Free Quote for Posters
