Hollywood art center has successful fundraiser

Over 200 people attended a fundraiser at the Art and Culture Center/Hollywood recently.

This is the tenth year for the gala, called ‘Hot Hollywood Glam: Hooray for Hollywood’. More than $27,000 was raised this year for the arts program conducted by the center.

Hot Hollywood Glam is a celebration of Hollywood's golden age, and the center was transformed for the evening. The art galleries became a lounge, and the entrance featured a red carpet, with other décor inspired by California. Vocalist Maria De Crescenzo performed, as did VK Dance, a dance studio. During a silent auction, participants bid on such prizes as restaurant vouchers and hotel stays.

Elizabeth Sanjuan and Ken Brown, who own Gallery 2014 in Hollywood's downtown, were the honorees of the event this year. The two are active in various charitable organizations and, since 2005, have given South Florida non-profits over $2m. They support the arts through their organization, the Hollywood Arts Foundation, Inc. They are also committed to helping deprived communities throughout the Caribbean and Latin America, and work to help them by bringing bring health services, education, and clean water to the areas.

Events like this can be even more fun if organizers work with a banner printing company to create colorful Banners they can use to decorate the venue. Banners are sturdy and can be used both indoors and outside.
