Flamboyant fundraiser to flock to Hollywood lawns

An activity that will put the fun in fundraising will soon be gracing Hollywood lawns, and it may put a smile on the faces of one and all.

A group of volunteer “flamingo herders” will be setting up flocks of these flamboyant birds on lawns as part of an event planned by Hollywood Women’s Club. The goal is to bring some cheer to households and the community as a whole, and the monies raised will support a variety of local projects.

For a donation of $45, those who sign up can order a large flock of ornamental flamingos to be placed on the front lawn of a family member or friend, or as a tip of the hat to a local business. The wranglers will set them up in the morning, and at the end of the day, they will return to collect them.

An outside-the-box fundraiser like this can be fun for both the recipient and the general public. Including a festive sign can add even more excitement, and these can be both designed and produced by an area banner printing company.

Hollywood Women’s Club is now accepting bookings for its flamingo flock, and the program will run until December 23. More details and a link to join the fun can be found by visiting its online listing.
