Once again, people in Doral who enjoy fine dining have a chance to attend a wine-pairing event next month.
Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurants is hosting the Bewitched on Bourbon Street dinner. Bourbon Street, of course, refers to the famous street in New Orleans, and the menu promises the best of Cajun and Creole cuisine.
The evening begins with Hurricanes, probably the signature cocktail of New Orleans, followed by a mini baguette served with NOLA Butter.
The first course is a Bourbon Street Gumbo, a traditional dish made with okra, trinity vegetables, pulled chicken, Tasso ham, and andouille sausage. The wine will be an Unoaked Chardonnay.
The next course is “Grillades & Grits,” grilled tenderloin medallions served with Tasso ham collard greens, MontAmore grits, and Creole gravy. The wine is the restaurant’s October Wine of the Month, Aereus.
Dessert is the Not So Classic Beignets. Beignets are deep-fried pastries that are sprinkled with powdered sugar, and people line up to buy them at the Café du Monde. At this dinner, it appears they will be baked, not fried, filled with Sweet Creole Cream Cheese and topped with Bourbon-Chocolate Sauce. The wine with this course is Vin Chocolat Noir.
The Bewitched on Bourbon Street – Wine Club Pairing Dinner is scheduled for October 14, beginning at 7.00 pm, at the Cooper’s Hawk at 3585 Northwest 83rd Avenue in Doral.
