A comedian who has been involved in stand-up since she was 17 will be in Doral soon.
Gina Brillon is a native of The Bronx, New York, and won NBC’s “Stand Up for Diversity” showcase in 2012, becoming the first Latina to do so. In 2013, at the “Just for Laughs” festival in Montreal, Brillon was named as a “New Face.” In 2014, she released “Gina Brillon: Pacifically Speaking,” her debut, a one-hour special.
Critics and audiences have acclaimed her specials. She released a special for HBO, “Gina Brillon: Easily Offended,” in 2019, and followed that in 2020 with “Gina Brillon, The Floor is Lava,” which went on to earn a nomination for an Imagen Award, and to win a Gracie Award in 2021. More recently, “Gina Brillion: Mind Your Business,” amassed more than 250,000 views in its first month of release.
Brillon has appeared as a guest star on television programs including “Kevin Can Wait” on CBS, “The Conners” on ABC. She has appeared on “The View,” “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” and “Late Night with Seth Meyers.” In 2023, she guest-starred in “Dashing Through the Snow,” a Disney holiday film, along with Ludacris and Lil Rel Howery. In 2021, Brillon was the first Puerto Rican comedian to be named as a finalist on “America’s Got Talent.”
Brillon will be at Miami Improv in Doral from July 3 to 6. The club is at 3450 NW 83rd Avenue. When they plan events like this, organizers can use poster printing methods to advertise them.
