A delicious event is coming up in Doral to make the winter months a little warmer.
Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurants is the host of the upcoming Gilded Winter Soiree, a wine pairing dinner. Events like this are becoming increasingly popular, as diners across the country learn which wines work best with certain foods.
The evening begins with The Icewine Smash. Ice wine is a dessert wine made from grapes that froze on the vine, and were then picked. Freezing concentrates the sugar in the grapes and makes a very thick, sweet wine.
Next, pretzel bread will be served with salted, whipped butter, followed by a pasta dish, Cavatelli ala Norcina Italian Sausage, with parmesan cheese, brown butter with black truffle, and garlic cream. The food will be served with a chardonnay.
The main course features grilled flat iron with roasted potatoes, spice-crusted carrots, and mushroom sauce that will be paired with Vin Veloute, Cooper’s Hawk’s Wine of the Month.
Dessert is an English classic, sticky toffee pudding with salted caramel. This will be served with almond crumble made with white chocolate and vanilla ice cream. The wine for this course is an almond sparkling wine.
The Gilded Winter Soirée is on January 15, from 7.00pm until 10.00pm, at Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurants at 3585 Northwest 83rd Avenue in Doral. People attending the event are invited to wear winter white or gold to reflect the season. Organizers of events like this can use flyer printing to create a special menu for diners.
