An event that brings families outside to enjoy the night is on its way to Doral.
The popular Camping Under the Stars is held annually, and has been a city staple for years. Attendees will set up tents and relax, enjoy a movie on a gigantic screen, roast marshmallows, and stay warm around a bonfire. This year’s film is “Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted,” which will begin at 8.30 pm. Only registered attendees will be allowed to watch the film.
Organizers have some rules in place for everyone’s safety and comfort. First, overnight camping is restricted to those over 21. Younger people must be in the company of an adult over the age of 25. In addition, guardians and parents must supervise their children. Finally, there are no generators allowed, and smoking, alcohol, pets, and gas grills are all prohibited.
Event organizers remind people they need to bring their own camping gear. They also suggest attendees bring their own blankets, lawn chairs, drinking water, wipes, flashlights and batteries, and insect repellent. Organizers of events like this will often use flyer printing to create handouts, reiterating the regulations and recommended items to bring.
The 2024 Camping Under the Stars event is Friday, February 2 and Saturday, February 3 at Doral Glades Park, 7600 NW 98th Place. The fun starts at 6.00 pm, and the price is $10, which is per tent rather than per person. Pre-registration is required, and tickets are now on sale.
