Special dinner in Doral

Maybe the Food Network is to blame, but it seems people have become more aware than ever of the joy of fine dining. A special dinner scheduled in Doral is proving this to be true.

Wine pairing dinners are precisely what they sound like—great food accompanied by a wine specifically selected to enhance the dish. In Doral, a wine pairing dinner is scheduled to make “A Toast to the Amalfi Coast.”

The Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurants in Doral is the venue for the dinner, where Chef Matt McMillin has created the menu that includes three courses and accompanying wines. The night starts with Prosecco, a sweet sparkling wine, and a loaf of pull-apart garlic parmesan bread.

The first course is a pasta with creamy lemon sauce and shrimp, served with grape tomatoes, spinach, and garlic sausage. The wine is Pinot Gris.

The main course is medallions wrapped with pancetta, served with herb roasted potatoes, squash, and balsamic jus. The wine is Isola del Mare.

Dessert is a chocolate cake, served with Amaretto chocolate sauce and almond crema. The wine for the dessert course is Amaro Averna.

The event is $69 per person, limited to those 21 and over, and the date is June 20, at 7pm. People may sit with guests they do not know, encouraging attendees to meet new people. Events that attract people with similar interests provide opportunities to exchange Business Cards.
