A new development, CityPlace Doral on NW 83rd Avenue, has a luxury cinema included on the property.
The CinéBistro, which features seven screens and can seat a total of 550 patrons, opened on March 17 with ‘Beauty and the Beast’, ‘Logan’, and ‘Kong: Skull Island’ among its initial offerings. The new theater joins a growing number of luxurious movie houses in the Miami area.
Among the features at CinéBistro are reclining loveseats that hold two, 7.1 surround sound, and in-theater meal service, with full meals available from executive chef Justin Sherrer. The theater also has a private dining room, as well as a lounge and bar.
The Doral location is CinéBistro's twelfth theater in the United States, and the fifth in Florida. The chain is part of Cobb Theaters, which is based in Alabama. The first movie house in Miami to allow patrons to dine and watch a film at the same time was another CinéBistro; it opened in 2008 at the Dolphin Mall.
Luxurious movie theaters are becoming increasingly popular in South Florida. Last December, Landmark Theatres opened at Merrick Park. Other film-and-dinner houses such as the Cinépolis Coconut Grove (located at CocoWalk) and the iPic Theaters (in the Intracoastal Mall) are going strong, while AMC has converted two of its Miami theaters into luxury cinemas.
