The City of Doral is partnering with The Rhythm Foundation to bring La Santa Cecilia, a Latin rock band that has a Grammy to its credit, to Ritmo Doral.
This is the third year in a row for Ritmo Doral, a cultural event and multinational concert that promotes Doral's diversity and cultural variety. The festival is family-friendly, and free for everyone to enjoy. In addition to music, beverage and food vendors will be on hand to provide samples, and there will be kid-centered activities.
Mr. Pauer and Elastic Bond will join La Santa Cecilia in providing the entertainment. La Santa Cecilia is based in Los Angeles and was formed by Marisol “La Marisoul” Hernandez, the lead singer, in 2007. Also, in the group are Alex Bendana on bass; Miguel “Oso” Ramirez on drums; and Jose “Pepe” Carlos playing the requinto and accordion. The band won the Grammy in 2014, taking home the title for “Best Latin Rock” album for “Treinta Dias”.
The band takes its name from St. Cecilia, the patron saint of music, and fuses world music, rock, and Latin culture. Their inspiration comes from Pan-American favorites such as the rumba, bossa-nova, and tango, as well as contemporary music. Festival organizers can use poster printing to advertise the performance.
The Ritmo Doral Festival is set for March 23, from 6.00 pm until 11.00 pm, in Downtown Doral Park.
