Exhibit to capture Dorals beauty

An event is coming up in Doral specifically to celebrate the beauty of the city and its parks.

The City of Doral has put out a call to photographers to submit their work for an exhibit to be called “Our Parks.” The exhibit celebrates Parks & Recreation Month and asks photographers to user their talent and highlight the city’s parks with their photos. The winning shots will be displayed outdoors at Downtown Doral Park. Outdoor events like this can benefit if organizers use banner printing to create weatherproof signage to help visitors find the exhibits.

Although “Our Parks” is the theme of the photos, there is more involved, as the city stipulates the photos should not be limited to the appearance of the park, but also show the positive impact the parks have made on the life of the photographer.

The city has also restricted the contest to ten specific parks: Veterans Park, Trails & Tails Park, Morgan Levy Park, MAU Park, Downtown Doral Park, Doral Meadow Park, Doral Legacy Park, Doral Glades Park, Doral Central Park, and Doral White Course Park. The newest addition to the parks system, Doral White Course Park, features an events plaza on the Osprey Lake shore, a playground, putting green, and a boardwalk that connects to downtown Doral.

The deadline to submit photos is June 1, and the photos will be on display beginning June 27. In order to submit their work, artists should contact the city at 305-593-6600, or email Danika.green@cityofdoral.com.
