Doral residents will soon be able to go to the movies again, but the experience will be a little different.
The city has announced it will soon begin its Drive-In Movie Series, to be held in Doral Central Park. The first film is perfect for kicking off the autumn holidays: “The Nightmare Before Christmas.”
Rules for the drive-in are simple. At 6.00 pm, the park will open so that viewers can park their cars. The film will start at 7:00 pm. Larger vehicles such as vans and trucks will have a special rear area designated for them so they don't block other patrons' view. A local FM radio station will broadcast the soundtrack of the film, produced by Tim Burton.
Candy and popcorn are included in the price, but patrons are encouraged to bring their own soft drinks, water, and snacks, as no refreshments or food will be available at the event. The restrooms will be open, but people must wear masks to and from the facilities.
The fee is $5 per vehicle for general admission. A Premier Parking Ticket is also available, at the price of $15 per vehicle. Patrons who choose this option will be given access to the front rows. However, larger vehicles are not permitted to park in front under any circumstances.
The first film in the series will be shown on October 23. Poster printing can provide local publicity for events like this.
