Doral recently reworked its Façade Improvement Program to give more entities a chance to receive funding to improve their façades.
The grants provide as much as $10,000 per property for such improvements. The changes mean that all homeowner association (HOA) entries that are visible to the public, all commercial properties, and all business structures can now apply for the funds. Priority will go to structures that are highly visible, and are situated along major roads, as well as to buildings within the Doral Décor District.
The Doral Façade Improvement Grant Program is designed to help qualifying parties receive the money they need to improve the appearance of their building, which in turn will increase investment from the private sector, as well as beautifying the city, and encouraging job creation and economic growth, by making Doral's buildings more attractive.
The types of external improvements generally considered within the scope of the grant are windows, canopies, lighting, painting, landscaping, and bringing the building up to ADA specifications. The funds are reimbursed as the projects are completed.
Interested parties can find details on the city's website, and it's necessary for applicants to meet with a staff liaison before applying. Businesses must be within the City of Doral, and completed applications are due by 3:30 pm on August 17.
