Doral turns 15 this year, and the city has been celebrating with various activities.
Recently, residents got together for a party at Doral Legacy Park. The family-friendly day brought out thousands of residents who enjoyed free games, activities, and live music in the park, which offers more than 18 acres of green space in the heart of the city.
Among those who came out to join in the fun were Doral's mayor Juan Carlos Bermudez, members of the city council, U.S. Congressional representative Mario Diaz-Balart, and Jose ‘Pepe’ Diaz, one of Miami-Dade County's commissioners.
Bermudez, who was the first mayor of the newly-formed city 15 years ago, and who was re-elected to that post in 2016, said he was proud of how far the city has come since its beginnings, and is looking forward to where it will go next.
Cakes by An Mary provided free treats, and everyone enjoyed other activities including bubble soccer, gigantic board games, and face painting. Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) provided special activities, which also heralded a new activity involving the institution.
Doral and PAMM have partnered to implement the Inside|Out Program, during which high-quality reproductions of works from the museum's permanent collection are temporarily displayed in cities throughout the area. A total of 20 artworks will be installed around Doral during the summer.
Organizers of events like this can use flyer printing companies to create informative handouts about the activity.
