Doral event to encourage positive change

An event that will help attendees find peace and acceptance is scheduled for Doral.

Organizers of the “Go with the Flow” afternoon will be discussing some of the principles of yoga, after which there will be sessions to help participants strengthen their body/mind connection, as well as incorporate “radical acceptance” into their lives.

Radical acceptance is thought of as the ability people can develop to accept situations they cannot control, which reduces their power to cause suffering. Practicing radical acceptance does not mean people will not feel pain or experience emotions. Rather, they will not allow the pain they feel to become ongoing suffering.

The event will begin with a talk by Stephanie Essenfeld, who will speak about radical acceptance and the importance of accepting reality as it is, which enables people to grow. After that, Cristina Ortega will guide participants through a session of yoga to help participants strengthen the connection of body and mind. The goal of the session is to help participants find the harmony and inner peace that makes it possible to live a rich life, and touches on taking care of both the body and the mind.

Go with the Flow will take place July 11, from 6:30 pm until 8:30 pm, at the Doral Cultural Arts Center on Northwest 53rd Street. When organizers plan events like this, they can use flyer printing to create explanatory handouts for participants.
