Christmas challenge in Doral

Doral has an idea that will excite creative youngsters.

The City of Doral has challenged children in elementary school to design the city’s holiday card for 2022. The contest is open to children in both public and private schools in grades K-5. They will need to submit their designs either through their parents, or their art teachers.

Two cards will be deemed prize-winners. One will go to a student in either kindergarten, first, or second grade, and the other will be a student in third, fourth, or fifth grade. The winners will both be featured in one of the city’s publications and will receive their prizes at the official Tree Lighting Ceremony. They will also receive art supplies and other goodies.

The students have been asked to incorporate something they like about Doral into their card, along with a holiday/winter theme. The card should send a message to people of all denominations to have a wonderful holiday. In addition, one of three phrases must appear on the card; either “Doral Shines,” “For All the Right Reasons,” or “City of Doral.”

All the cards submitted must be original artwork without the student’s name, their school, or any company name.

The Tree Lighting and the announcement of the winning cards is December 2, at 6.00 pm. Organizers of outdoor events like these can use banner printing to create seasonal decorations that are both attractive and weather resistant.
