Telecommunications giant AT&T is establishing a new cell site on NW 25 Street in Doral.
The unit, which is the fifth such installation activated this year in Miami-Dade County, will improve wireless service to customers in Doral.
The four cells previously installed and activated in the county are in Coral Gables, South Beach, Hialeah, and North Miami Beach. The new facility in Doral will expand the company’s wireless coverage in the area, as well as improving data and voice connectivity for AT&T consumers.
This year alone, AT&T has switched on eight new cell sites throughout Southern Florida. In addition, it has made improvements to almost 100 others, with the intent of improving service to mobile devices. Since 2012, AT&T has invested almost $875m in networks in Palm Beach, Broward, and Miami-Dade counties.
Last year, the utility giant said it would probably add between 1,500 and 3,000 cell sites per year to its network, and would do so for the foreseeable future. The new sites are designed as part of an ongoing effort to increase AT&T’s network and, at the same time, improve capacity and coverage for its customers.
Company officials might like to work with brochure printers to create a mailer for area residents, explaining the way in which the new cell site will improve coverage in Doral. They could mail both current and prospective customers.
