Women's history honored at end-of-month brunch

The 4th annual Women’s History Hall of Fame Inductee Brunch will be held in March, and the City of Deerfield Beach Parks and Recreation Department invites anyone interested to join in this event.

This year’s keynote speaker will be University of Florida graduate Daphne L. Valcin. In 2006, Valcin received the award for Graduating Outstanding Female Leader. She is a motivational speaker and, like many others, she works with the audience to provide them with the mindsets to obtain their goals, using her own experiences to lead others.

Print shops are available for speakers and event organizers who want to obtain Promotional Products as a way to get a message across to those in attendance.

The event will also serve as a way for the city to honor local influential women. This year, five women will be honored for their role in community commitment and as role models for those whose paths they cross. The inductees this year are Gabriela Gamperl, Lynn Kadushin, Phyllis Mayrikis, Pam Miliitello, and Cheyanne Stubbs. The woman have served in a variety of roles, including business owners, politics, activists, and volunteers.

The event will be held at the Oveta McKeithen Recreational Complex on Saturday March 30 at 11:00 am. The complex is located at the Johnny Tigner Community Center, 445 SW Second Street. The fee for the event is $10 and includes brunch and entertainment.
