Deerfield Beach welcomes championship beach volleyball tourney

It is not unusual to see a few volleyball players on any Florida beach, but Deerfield Beach will see hundreds of players converge on the city in mid-January for an amateur championship event.

The Deerfield Beach MLK Showcase volleyball tournament is coming once again to Deerfield Beach. The events are sanctioned by the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU). The games are open to girls 12-18 years of age. Awards will be given at the tournament but will vary based on the division size. Banner printing is often used at athletic events.

The AAU was formed in 1888 to establish standards and uniformity in amateur sports. Its website states the AAU is one of the largest nonprofit volunteer organizations in the world, with nearly 800,000 members. It organizes over 50 sports programs within the U.S. The AAU’s headquarters are in Orlando, FL.

The Deerfield Beach MLK Showcase tournament will be held January 17-18, 2026. This multi-court tourney will be played at two different locations in town. Select games will be held at the Tribe Volleyball facility, located at 1801 Green Road, and the other games will occur at the Pick-a-Ball Sports Complex at 3650 Southwest 10th Street. The entry fee is $425 per team before December 19; after that date a $100 surcharge applies. Ticket admission price is $14.00 per day, and they are only sold online.
